As a Person

I am clearly a fan of crows, lover of nature, and spiritual explorer. You can typically find me cuddling up with my kitties at home, sipping some hot tea with a good book, and jamming to folk, indie, and bluegrass music. I identify as a queer, cis, white, woman, and my pronouns are she/her. Other identities of importance to me are that I am pansexual, a daughter, a partner, a musician and creative, a highly sensitive person, a “recovered Catholic,” and a neurodivergent individual. I love to laugh and be silly, as well as taking delicate moments to cry and surrender. I am deeply emotional and use this strength in both my personal and professional life.

As a Professional

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and have been working in the mental health field for roughly 10 years. During my undergraduate career, I studied Psychology at Towson University, and later went on to receive my Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2019. During the duration of my career in mental health, I have had the privilege of working in both in and out-patient settings along with partial hospitalization programs. Additionally, I previously worked at a local mental health crisis center and interned at a nonprofit organization for victims of intimate partner violence.

Hey, my name is emily dufrane.

I’m the owner + operator of Sacred Crow Counseling and Consulting.

I provide trauma-competent and informed care when working with folkx 15+. I utilize a human-centered, eclectic, mind-body spirit perspective to support the healing process. I tend to work with people who identify as empaths and highly sensitive people, and love collaborating with clients creativity. I value celebrating and exploring identities and the complex + beautiful intersectionality of those aspects of self.

Many clients come to see me because they feel stuck in old patterns, circumstances, or relationships, and are feeling ready to try something new and become reacquainted with their core self. I help people learn to regulate emotions using the wisdom of their mind and body using both top-down (cognitive based) as well as bottom-up (body based) skills and strategies. I like to use art, music, movement, and meditation to enhance my counseling practice. I am passionate and committed to approach my therapeutic work from a feminist, humanistic, and transpersonal lens.
