Presented a group project that investigated the prevalence of food insecurity among Towson University students
Project entailed the creation of an online survey through Qualtrics that assessed the prevalence of food insecurity and
evaluated the barriers that students faced to obtaining quality, affordable food that yielded 887 participants within 6 weeks; in addition the group held a tabling event in which students were informed about supportive services through the university, and were provided with psycho-education on food insecurity as well as affordable, healthy meals that could be prepared in a dorm room; lastly the group facilitated the first meeting of a multidisciplinary team focused on addressing food insecurity at Towson University that led to institutional changes
As presenters, students led a roundtable discussion at the NMCS to educate peers and professionals on food insecurity, and shared results from the group project
